IT Ministry, Huawei Launch ICT Training Portal

Islamabad (TDI): The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, in collaboration with Huawei launched the ICT Training Portal to enhance IT skills among youth.

Minister of State for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, while addressing the launching ceremony, expressed hope that the portal would play a pivotal role in nurturing a digitally competent workforce, contributing to progress in the IT sector in Pakistan.

She said that youth interested in receiving training can apply through this portal, where they will have access to free online training.

“The main objective of this program is to provide training to our youth, making them qualified for jobs and enabling them to contribute to Pakistan’s development,” she added.

She said that over 150 million young people in the country are under the age of 30, and the skilled youth could play critical role in strengthening the country’s economy.

“To bolster the economy, it is necessary to equip our young population with the required training and skills,” she said.

The minister highlighted the importance of empowering youth through education and vocational programs to unlock their potential and push national progress.

“Utilizing information technology is of paramount significance in the modern age,” she said, adding highlighted that, under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision, efforts are underway to provide youth with advanced IT training.

She said that during his tenure as Chief Minister of Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif had stablished E-Rozgar centres and E-libraries for youth.

At that time, thousands of young men and women were trained and secured good jobs, she added.
