ISLAMABAD, September 7, 2024 (TDI): A Turkish-American woman who had been participating in a protest against settlement expansion in the Israeli-occupied West Bank was shot dead by Israeli forces.
Turkish and Palestinian officials said that 26-year-old Turiskh-American Ayesenur Ezgi Eygi received bullets in the head and they accused the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Eygi’s death.
Washington expressed sorrow over the death of Eygi and urged Israelis to probe the matter.

Palestinian officials said the victim had both U.S. and Turkish citizenship.
Eygi had recently graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle, the faculty president, Ana Mari Cauce, termed Eygi’s death a great and irreparable loss and said she had a good reputation among other students.
The deceased family said that Eygi studied psychology and Middle Eastern languages and cultures at the university.
