Tel Aviv (TDI): Israel’s defense minister issued a stark warning to Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Thursday, vowing retribution reminiscent of the “10 plagues” described in the Bible after a fresh wave of missile attacks against Israel.
“The Houthis are once again firing missiles at Israel. A plague of darkness, a plague of the firstborn, we will deliver all ten plagues,” Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote on social media platform X, invoking the biblical story of Egypt’s punishment in the Book of Exodus.
The comments came hours after the Israeli military reported that a missile launched from Yemen landed outside Israeli territory, one day after it had intercepted two others.

The Houthis have intensified their strikes following Israeli air raids last week that killed their prime minister and 11 senior officials.
Since the Gaza war broke out in October 2023, the group has repeatedly targeted Israel with drones and missiles, framing the attacks as solidarity with Palestinians.

Israel has responded with multiple rounds of airstrikes inside Yemen, hitting Houthi-controlled ports and the capital, Sanaa, in an effort to curb the group’s military capabilities.
