New Delhi, 9 September 2024 (TDI): Renowned Indian singer and music producer Hirdesh Singh, also known as Yo Yo Honey Singh, has revealed that the Islamic teachings reshaped his faith journey.
In an interview with The Lallantop, Singh shared how he got to understand Islamic teachings by Sufi saints.
The famous singer told the tabloid that in 2007 when he relocated to Mohali, Punjab, he happened to interact with several Sufi saints and scholars who initiated him into the essentialities of Islam.

“My initial curiosity grew into a deep interest as I sought answers to the many questions I had about the religion,” Singh shared, adding that he learned about Prophet Moses, Prophet Jesus, and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Them). He emphasized how attentively he listened and how persistent he was in seeking answers.
However, Singh admitted that after achieving fame and wealth in 2012, he strayed from his faith, succumbing to “negative influences.” “That was the biggest mistake of my life,” he confessed. In 2018, a battle with a life-threatening illness reignited his faith in God, strengthening his belief profoundly.
