Banjul, May 03, 2024 (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar is currently leading the Pakistani delegation at the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting (CFM) currently underway here.
Pakistan’s priorities at the Summit include advocacy for combating Islamophobia; peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
Pakistan will also emphasise collective position of the Ummah on the Israeli aggression against the people of Gaza and bringing an end to the Gaza genocide.
During the ongoing sessions, the Pakistani delegation has been focusing extensively on crucial matters concerning the Islamic world, including regional security, economic cooperation, and solidarity among member states.
The delegation is committed to advancing collaborative efforts to address shared challenges and promote unity across the OIC community.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering support for the OIC’s mission and emphasized the importance of collective action to address pressing issues facing Islamic nations.
The delegation has been engaging in bilateral discussions with fellow member states to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore opportunities for mutual cooperation in various sectors.
Furthermore, Pakistan’s participation underscores its commitment to advocating for the interests of the Islamic world and promoting peace, stability, and development within the region.
The delegation’s proactive involvement in the Council of Foreign Ministers meeting reflects Pakistan’s active role in advancing OIC’s objectives and contributing to constructive dialogue among member countries.
