Doha (TDI): In a significant development, Iran’s President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian met with Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah in Doha.
During the meeting, Prince Faisal conveyed greetings from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
President Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation and greetings to both leaders.
The discussion also covered recent regional and global developments.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan and Director-General of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulrahman Aldawood.
Earlier, President Pezeshkian stated that while Iran is “not looking for war,” it will respond decisively if Israel retaliates for a missile attack that occurred on Tuesday.
“We are not seeking conflict; it is Israel that compels us to respond,” he remarked.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Pezeshkian emphasized that any Israeli reaction would trigger a “stronger response” from Iran.
“If it (Israel) chooses to react, we will respond even more forcefully; this is the commitment of the Islamic Republic,” he asserted.

These comments followed an incident in which Iran launched approximately 200 missiles, including hypersonic weapons, at Israel, prompting many Israeli civilians to seek shelter.
