Islamabad (TDI): Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, has lauded Pakistan’s initiative to declare October 7 as the Day of Solidarity with Palestine.
In a statement on X, the ambassador said that Pakistan has set a remarkable precedent to express solidarity with Palestinians.
He said that this initiative not only deserves recognition but could also serve as a guiding example for countries worldwide, particularly within the Muslim community, to forge innovative ways of commemorating the countless innocent civilians who have fallen victim to violence in Gaza and Lebanon—many of whom are women and children.
This day stands to symbolize the enduring struggle for freedom, resistance against occupation, and the resilience and self-determination of the Palestinian people, marking a powerful stance against oppression and tyranny on the global stage, he said.
Furthermore, it presents an opportunity for nations yet to voice their condemnation of the Israeli regime’s atrocities to join in solidarity, the envoy added.
Moghadam said that it is imperative that supporters of the Palestinian cause worldwide embrace and promote this vital initiative, ensuring that October 7 is recognized and honored annually as a Day of Solidarity with Palestine.
