Islamabad (TDI): Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, General Muhammad Baqeri, called on Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
During the meeting, Khwaja Asif said that both friendly nations enjoy cordial and fraternal relations nourished by centuries-old religious and cultural affinities.
He said that bilateral ties between the two countries are progressing positively in all fields.
Both sides showed satisfaction on the progress in different areas of mutual interest, including joint border management and counter-terrorism initiatives.

It was agreed to enhance further cooperation in areas of common interest in future.
Moreover, General Baqeri also called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed prevailing regional security environment and explored avenues for bilateral defence cooperation.
