Iranian President’s spouse visits NUML, confers with honorary PhD degree

Islamabad, 22 April 2024 (TDI): On Monday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s spouse, Jamileh-Sadat Alamolhoda, paid a visit to Islamabad’s National University of Modern Languages (NUML).

Jamileh Alamolhoda officially inaugurated a cultural event, the NUML Spring Festival 2024. She visited a variety of national and international stalls displaying diverse cultures and traditions.

Rector NUML Major General (Retd) Shahid Mahmood Kayani, Director General Brig Shahzad Munir, faculty members, and a huge number of students attended the event. The NUML Rector awarded the distinguished guest an honorary PhD degree in educational sciences.

The Iranian President’s wife, Dr. Jamileh-Sadat Alamolhoda, stated that 1400 years ago, Islam’s teachings on knowledge educated the entire globe. “Knowledge without ethics has no value,” she further added during her speech at the institution.

In the period of colonial rule, religious leaders in Iran and this region played a fundamental part in maintaining national unity, according to Alamolhoda Jamileh’s remarks.

Moreover, she praised Allama Iqbal, the esteemed poet of the East, for his contribution to upholding Islam’s moral and intellectual values.

Jamileh-Sadat Alamolhoda revealed the English translation of her book, “The Art of Feminine Living,” contributing her views and knowledge to the scholarly conversation. She also highlighted the considerable role that women perform as outlined by Islam.

Furthermore, in the keynote address by Iranian President Raisi’s spouse at the unveiling of her book during a visit to NUML, she stated that it was also being translated into Urdu.

She commended NUML for its accomplishments in the development and dissemination of knowledge. She expressed an interest in looking into the potential for reciprocal educational cooperation in the fields of languages, science, and technology.

The wife of the President of Iran extended her gratitude to the NUML administration for their cordial welcome and for giving her the chance to engage with the teachers and students.

Speaking at the event, the Rector NUML noted that deep people-to-people relationships as well as bilateral relations that are historic, fraternal, and mutually trusted exist between Pakistan and Iran.

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi Iranian has arrived in Islamabad on a three-day official visit to Pakistan from 22 to 24 April 2024.

The Iranian President is accompanied by his spouse and a high-level delegation, comprising the Foreign Minister and other members of the cabinet, senior officials, and a business delegation.
