New York, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Hossein Amirabdollahian, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran held talks with Filippo Grand, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on Tuesday.
In the meeting, Amirabdollahian asserted that international organizations should be more energetic in resolving the humanitarian crisis situation in Afghanistan. Both talked about the contemporary situation of Afghanistan. The meeting also evaluated the bilateral relations between both Iran and UNHCR. They conversed on enhancing the mutual cooperation between both.
UNHCR appreciated Iran’s hospitality towards Afghan refugees and presented a report on the situation in Afghanistan. He also shared UNHCR’s plan to entertain the situation of the displaced people especially in the case of Afghanistan.
