Tehran, 24 October 2023 (TDI): Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian recently conducted diplomatic phone calls with key Palestinian resistance leaders, Ismail Haniyeh of Hamas and Ziad Nakhale of the Islamic Jihad Movement.
The discussions revolved around the latest political developments and the situation in Palestine, particularly in the wake of what Iran deems as brutal strikes by the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip.
Amirabdollahian used these conversations to inform the Palestinian leaders about Iran’s diplomatic measures and actions on the international stage to support the Palestinian people and condemn the perceived war crimes committed by the Zionist regime.
He reiterated the urgency of putting an end to the killing of civilians in Gaza and emphasized the necessity of opening the Rafah border crossing to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza population.
Additionally, he stressed the importance of opposing the forced displacement of Palestinians.

Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political office of Hamas, expressed his gratitude for Iran’s unwavering support.
