Washington (TDI): US President Donald Trump has issued a sharp warning to Iran, saying it would face overwhelming consequences if it targeted American vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump said Iran would be “blown off the face of the Earth” if US ships came under attack in the region, underscoring the seriousness of Washington’s stance amid rising tensions.
He pointed to what he described as the United States’ superior military strength, saying the country now has more advanced weapons and higher-grade ammunition than before. Trump added that US military bases around the world are fully equipped and ready to be used if necessary.
The US president also claimed that American forces had targeted seven small boats, referring to what he described as “fast boats,” though he did not provide further details.
In a separate statement, Trump called on South Korea to join “Project Freedom,” a US-led initiative aimed at escorting commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure safe passage.
