Iran to attend UN Climate Summit

Tehran, 1 November 2021 (TDI): An Iranian delegation headed by Ali Selajegheh, Department of Environment Chief, will go to the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).

Environmental change is one of the main issues in Iran. It can exacerbate drought and water stress. For this reason, it is important to make fruitful arrangements at the international level to address the issues.

The COP26 is the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference, which is being held in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12. The Iranian designation will likewise go to the World Summit from November 8, ISNA provided details on Monday.

The COP26 highest point will unite gatherings to speed up activity towards the objectives of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
