Iran rejects G7 countries’ allegations

Tehran (TDI): The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly rejected the recent allegations made by the foreign ministers of the G7 members, describing them as baseless and irresponsible, according to a statement from Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei.

Baqaei pointed out that G7 countries, especially the United States, Canada, and three European countries, support Israel with money, artilleries, and political help. Furthermore, he blamed these countries for violence and genocide in the region and mentioned that peace can only happen if they stop being interventionist.

Yesterday, during the discussion at the sideline of the Munich Security Conference, the G7 countries condemned the destabilizing actions of Iran. They expressed their concerns about Iran’s rapid increase of its uranium enrichment and ballistic missiles range while also accused of supporting terrorist groups in the region.

Reaffirming Iran’s legitimate right and legal responsibility to defend its people, territorial integrity, and national sovereignty, Baqaei underscored that Iran’s military-defense capabilities are fully developed with international laws and norms.

He stressed that these capabilities aim to ensure Iran’s national security and contribute to peace and stability in the region.

According to the spokesperson Esmail Baqaei,

“The Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to defending its national interests and contributing to regional and global stability through lawful and peaceful means.”

Baqaei also rejected any skepticism regarding the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities, stating that the country’s nuclear program is designed to meet its technical and industrial needs while adhering to its international obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Previously, the G7 member states and the high representative of the European Union expressed their concerns regarding international issues, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Gaza crisis, Haiti, Sudan, and the crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

They also accused Iran of supporting terrorist groups and armed organizations in the Middle East and the Red Sea that are creating unrest in the region.

Additionally, G7 members blamed Iran for spreading dangerous weapons like missiles and drones in the region and for mistreating people by violating their fundamental human rights.
