According to an ISPR press release, the incident occurred on Tuesday, November 19, when militants attempted to storm the checkpost.
The attack was successfully repelled, but a suicide bomber detonated explosive, causing the collapse of the checkpost’s perimeter wall and adjacent infrastructure.
The martyrs include 10 soldiers and two Frontier Constabulary personnel, the ISPR stated.
“In the exchange of fire that followed, six terrorists were neutralized,” the statement added, describing the attackers as “khwarij” (outlaws).
This incident is the latest in a series of attacks targeting security forces and law enforcement in Balochistan and KP, where militant activity has seen a troubling resurgence.

Bannu, in particular, has emerged as a hotspot for violence, with recent incidents including the abduction of police personnel, an attack on a girls’ school, and a shootout that resulted in the martyrdom of three security officials.
The ISPR reaffirmed the military’s commitment to eradicating the threat of terrorism, stressing that such attacks will not deter Pakistan’s resolve to ensure peace and stability.
As investigations into the attack continue, security forces have intensified operations in the region to apprehend those responsible and prevent further incidents.
