Islamabad, 24 August 2022 (TDI): A specialized exhibition of Iranian goods is being held in Islamabad from August 24 to August 26 at Pak-China friendship Center.

The Pakistan-Iran Trade Exhibition aims to help in bringing the business community of both countries closer and promoting mutual investment.

 

The trade exhibition is organized under the auspices of the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad. It is supported by the Iran National Innovation Fund and the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare Iran.

Remarks by Ambassador of Iran

The Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, Syed Mohammad Ali Hosseini underscored his remarks over the exhibition. The purpose of the exhibition is to increase cooperation in the fields of trade, industry, and investment in both countries.

Mohammad Ali Hosseini said that such trade, industrial exhibitions, and conferences in both countries will prove helpful in bringing the business communities of both countries closer.

He told that 33 companies from Iran are participating in this three-day exhibition. These include 11 knowledge-based companies that are working on science, technology, and innovation.

He further stated that various sectors are participating in the exhibition. These include Information Technology, Telecom, Dairy, and the food industry. Moreover,  Kitchen wares, Technology, carpets, and Science and technology companies.

Various companies in Pakistan are also participating in the exhibition from cloth, handicrafts, jewelry, and many other sectors.

He highlighted that recently Pakistan Iran Joint Economic Commission (JEC) talks have been held in Pakistan and Iran. It has assured the promotion of mutual trade between the two countries.

The aim of which is to increase the volume of trade between the two countries, which will increase mutual cooperation in many fields.

He also said that after these negotiations, agreements were also signed between the two countries in four different fields.

Remarks by Chairman Senate Committee for Defence

Mushahid Hussain Syed stated that relations between Pakistan and Iran are reaching new heights on economic, trade, and diplomatic sides.

He further told that the work on the Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline will also be completed soon. This will promote cooperation in the energy sector in both countries and fulfill Pakistan’s energy needs.

He underscored that Pakistan and Iran have a very important role in regional trade and economic integration.
