Islamabad, 4 September 2023 (TDI): Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam called on Caretaker Federal Minister for Power and Petroleum Muhammad Ali on Monday.
Both sides discussed mutual interests and strengthened fraternal relations between the two countries.
The Energy Minister warmly welcomed the neighboring Iranian Ambassador and conveyed his determination to enhance the bonds between the two countries.
The Ambassador conveyed his best wishes to the minister as he assumed his new portfolio.
Muhammad Ali highlighted the significant potential for energy sector collaboration between Iran and Pakistan.

“We are keen to explore all options and work together,” reiterated the Energy minister.
Pakistan’s growing energy requirements offer an opportunity for cooperation with neighboring Iran, which possesses abundant energy reserves.
The Ambassador commended the Minister’s enthusiasm for regional cooperation and affirmed his support.
He offered his diplomatic assistance and services to the Pakistani side whenever needed.
Earlier in September, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held a meeting with the Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam.

In a meeting with Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam of Iran to Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of prioritizing increased cooperation in economic and security aspects.
He pointed out that the recent opening of the Mand-Pishin border marketplace would not only boost the economic development of the border regions but also symbolize the joint dedication to improving the well-being of both nations.
Moreover, he observed that President Raisi’s ‘Neighborhood First’ policy strongly resonated with Pakistan’s vision for regional development and connectivity.
The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of both nations harnessing their distinctive geographical positions to advance shared goals of regional peace and prosperity, facilitated by increased trade and enhanced regional connectivity.
Furthermore, The Iranian Ambassador expressed Iran’s eagerness to build upon the recent positive developments in the bilateral relationship, with a particular focus on areas such as the economy, energy, and security.
