Islamabad (TDI): Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal has expressed resolve to transform isolated successes in science and technology into a cohesive network for broader economic development.
Inaugurating the “Science, Technology, and Engineering for Development” initiative in Islamabad the other day, he emphasized the need for country’s transition into the era of digital and knowledge revolutions.

The Minister said that our progress depends on how strongly we build a foundation of emerging technologies and integrate them with our economic programs.
Ahsan Iqbal outlined a vision to elevate exports from 30 billion dollars to 100 billion dollars within eight years and transform Pakistan into a 1 trillion dollars economy by 2035.

Earlier, the minister had been emphasizing on corelating international grants with objective of development. He is of the view that research and development must be connected with national goals and it must impact national economy and development.
