New York, 2 January 2022 (TDI): 2021 was one of the harshest years the Afghan people have ever lived through, along with many other tough years they had lived through until now, due to the fear of terrorism and hunger.
In the face of two deadly challenges, they still fight for their lives and the future of their children. Afghans find themselves in the middle of a geopolitical conflict between superpowers, and their land became a battlefield where these superpowers use them for rivalries and to try and influence international affairs.
This international political competition leads Afghanistan to the dark tunnel and makes the future of this nation unknown. Despite all that, this great nation is holding onto life and believes in hope.
And because of this resilience by the Afghan nation, it leads all international organizations and the independent voices in the world, and the neutral countries have to support their dreams of life.
Among all these supporters, the United Nations was leading them all, and they continued to generate undeniable efforts to deliver the Afghan people to a safe shore.
Under the subject of Afghanistan IOM RESPONSE 2021, the UN announced following:
In response to the mounting humanitarian needs in Afghanistan resulting from drought and conflict, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has continued to increase its relief operations throughout the country, in addition to re-engaging established livelihoods, community development, and infrastructure projects.

It is committed to providing assistance and relief to the displaced and mobile populations of Afghanistan along with the rest of the humanitarian community. Nevertheless, IOM promised that they would remain neutral and impartial in our activities.
Furthermore, it aims to provide unhindered access to and assurances from the staff and service providers that they will be able to provide assistance and services, specifically to women, girls, and the most vulnerable, without interference from outside sources.
It is estimated that the IOM will need USD 108.5 million to implement the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) for Afghanistan in 2021, which is intended to assist 1.9 million of Afghanistan’s most vulnerable citizens, including those who are displaced.
This is demonstrated by the UN’s appeal for USD 24 million in August, which outlines the immediate funding requirements for responding to humanitarian emergencies.
