San Jose, 16 May 2022 (TDI): The Ambassador of Pakistan to the US, Masood Khan, addressed the “Invest in Pakistan Forum 2022” that was held in the Silicon Valley.

The event was organized by the OPEN Silicon Valley, an international organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs based in the Silicon Valley. More than 150 participants attended the conference.

The Participants included 9 Pakistani leading Startups, US venture capitalists, and IT companies. Additionally, they expressed keen interest in investment opportunities in Pakistan’s IT & Tech sector.

Address by the Ambassador of Pakistan

The Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Masood Khan, addressed the conference as the opening keynote speaker.

Ambassador Masood Khan expressed gratitude to the American and Pakistani officials including the US Government for their participation.

Moreover, he especially appreciated the organizers and speakers/panelists for their hard work to demonstrate Pakistan’s immense potential in the IT & Tech Sector. Furthermore, Ambassador Khan discussed Pakistan’s start-up boom.

He noted that in the past 18 months, tech startups in Pakistan have earned half a billion dollars from US support. In addition, Ambassador Khan proclaimed that Pakistan offers vast economic opportunities.

Likewise, he pointed out that with a 220 million consumer market, a growing middle class, and a young and vibrant population, Pakistan was fast becoming a hub for trade, investment, and connectivity in the region.

Furthermore, Ambassador Khan underscored the improvements made by the government in ease of doing business and initiatives to facilitate the investors.

Afterward, Dilawar Syed, the Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs at the State Department, welcomed the initiative. He expressed support for promoting win-win opportunities for entrepreneurs in both countries.

Speakers in the forum discussed aspects of Pakistani startups and produced workable recommendations for both the investors and the governments.

The United States and Pakistan have built win-win cooperation in the field of technology, commerce, and investment.
