International Foreign Women’s Association Hosts 'Taste of the World' Charity Fest

Islamabad (TDI): A vibrant celebration of global flavors and cultural diversity took center stage in Pakistan’s capital as Serena Hotels, in collaboration with the International Foreign Women’s Association (IFWA), hosted the “Taste of the World 2026” food festival.

Held under the cultural diplomacy initiative, the event brought together diplomats, expatriates, and local food enthusiasts for a shared culinary experience featuring 24 stalls representing various countries.

Each stall offered authentic traditional dishes, allowing visitors to sample cuisines from around the world in a single venue.

The festival was inaugurated by IFWA President, Nompumelelo Abu Basutu, and Serena Hotels CEO Aziz Boolani, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering cultural exchange and community engagement.

Speaking at the event, Boolani emphasized the organization’s commitment to creating platforms that celebrate diversity while contributing positively to society.

Basutu echoed similar sentiments, noting that the festival serves as a meaningful way to bring cultures together while promoting collaboration and compassion.

The participation of diplomatic missions further underscored the international spirit of the event, turning it into a hub of cross-cultural interaction.

Beyond its culinary appeal, the festival carried a strong philanthropic purpose. Organizers confirmed that proceeds from the event would be donated to charitable organizations supported by IFWA, particularly those working to improve the lives of visually impaired individuals.

The initiative successfully raised approximately Rs2 million, reflecting the generosity of attendees, participating embassies, and corporate partners.

The festival continues to be one of IFWA’s flagship events, combining gastronomy with social impact. By blending food, culture, and charity, the event not only offered a unique dining experience but also reinforced the role of cultural diplomacy in building bridges between communities.
