International Day for Nuclear Disarmament Observed

United Nations (TDI): Global community observed International Day of Nuclear Disarmament on Thursday.

In his message for the day, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on nuclear-armed states to honor their disarmament obligations and pledge to never use nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

Guterres emphasized that the only true solution to the nuclear threat is the complete elimination of nuclear weapons.

The day serves not only to raise awareness about the dangers posed by these weapons but also to highlight the social and economic costs of their existence.
