Pakistan to Host International Conference on Sustainable Health Systems

Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan is set to host a one-day International Conference on “Sustainable Health Systems and Resilience: Challenges and Opportunities” on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

The event, dedicated to hard of the country’s public health workers, will be held at COMSTECH in Islamabad.

The US-based Manhattan Strategy Group is organising the event in collaboration with its partners.

Global health experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss strategies for transforming health systems through partnerships will attend the event.

Dr Malik Ahmad Bharath, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on National Health Services will formally commence the event with a welcome speech.

“Dr Erin Sorrell from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr Hammad Ali from the US CDC, and General Aamer Ikram, former Executive Director of the NIH Pakistan will deliver the keynote addresses,” a statement said.

The conference will feature five technical sessions on topics such as health system strengthening, universal health coverage, public-private partnerships, and the impact of climate change on healthcare resilience. International and national experts will share their insights and research.

The event will officially confirm the presence of the Manhattan Strategy Group in Pakistan.

Over 150 health professionals, government officials, and researchers are expected to attend, making this a significant event for Pakistan’s health sector.
