Korla, 23 August 2021 (TDI): The International Army games 2021 kicked off in the Xinjiang region of China, on Sunday. China is one of the 11 hosting states for the event. The event started on Sunday and will end on 4th September with a concluding ceremony where the 3 best teams will be awarded a prize.
About 277 teams from 42 countries and regions are participating in the games. During the opening ceremony in Xinjiang, 10 teams from seven participating countries namely China, Belarus, Egypt, Russia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and Vietnam, attended the ceremony. In the coming two weeks, the teams will participate in 3 different games: “Suvorov Attack,” “Clear Sky” and “Safe Environment.”
The event is an example of defense diplomacy among states, a legacy by Russia which started in 2015. China became a joint host state in 2017. The event is an opportunity to improve fighting strategies, share expertise and create relationships between the armies of different states.
