Islamabad (TDI): The first meeting of the Steering Committee on Electric Vehicles was presided over by Minister of Industries Rana Tanveer Hussain on Tuesday. The group determined to conclude the National Electric Vehicle (NEV) in less than a month.
To provide a sustainable transportation system in the nation, the policy aims to promote domestic manufacture and the early adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), including new energy vehicle (NEV).

Chief executives from key ministries and departments, including Secretary of Industries and Production Saif Anjum and Minister of Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, were present at the meeting.
In her capacity as meeting chair, the minister emphasized that the new strategy should support energy efficiency and the car industry’s shift to sustainable technologies.

All parties involved made their proposals known throughout the meeting. There will be another gathering the coming week.
