Indonesia and Turkey’s Foreign Ministers discussed Afghanistan and Myanmar

New York, 20 September 2021 (TDI): Retno Masurdi, Foreign Minister of Indonesia, discussed diplomatic relations with Mevlut Cavusoglu, Foreign Minister of Turkish, on the sidelines of the 76th United Nations General Assembly session. They both had a productive meeting and also exchanged views on the deepening of bilateral relations.

Retno Masurdi said on Twitter that she discussed the circumstances of Myanmar and Afghanistan with the Turkish Foreign Minister. They also discussed cooperation against COVID-19 and mutual efforts to deepen the bilateral relations. She signed off with two emojis of Indonesia and Turkish flags.

Menteri Luar announced on Saturday that in addition to attending the UNGA76 series of meetings at the UN headquarters, she would also meet with her Foreign Minister colleagues for discussion of bilateral relations.

Cavusoglu also wrote on Twitter about this productive meeting and he also highlighted the close cooperation of Turkey and Indonesia. He tweeted, “We will host you in our country next month. #Indonesia We had a productive meeting with DB Retno Marsudi on the margins of the UN General Assembly. We will further strengthen our bilateral relations in every field. #BM, Islamic cooperation organization, D-8 and at MIKTA we cooperate closely with Indonesia.”
