Indian Tourists Scrap Trips to Azerbaijan, Turkiye Over Pakistan Support

New Delhi (TDI): Indians are cancelling holidays in popular resorts in Azerbaijan and Turkiye after the two countries supported Pakistan during the recent conflict, two booking firms said.

Azerbaijan and Turkiye, popular budget holiday destinations for Indians, issued statements supporting Pakistan after India’s air strikes last week.

“Bookings for Azerbaijan and Turkiye dropped by 60% over the last week while cancellations have surged by 250% during the same period,” according to a spokesperson for MakeMyTrip.

EaseMyTrip’s Chief Executive Officer, Rikant Pittie, stated the platform had witnessed a 22% rise in cancellations for Turkiye and 30% for Azerbaijan because of recent tensions.
