Islamabad (TDI): Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, said that recent events and escalations show that India and Israel are strategically aligned.
He was referring to India’s strikes on Pakistan in May and Israel’s unprovoked strikes on Iran this month, as he received the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam at the Parliament House.
Both incidents ended in limited military escalation with fears of all out wars as long as the exchange of strikes continued. Interestingly, ceasefire was called by the United States President in both cases.

In meeting with the Iranian Ambassador, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that a better way for Iran and Pakistan to deal with these turbulent times would be to further solidify bilateral partnership.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, and Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Naqvi were also present in the meeting. The Speaker condemned Israel’s recent attacks on Iran, calling it a flagrant violation of international law.
He emphasized that what the world needs today is not more war but a renewed commitment to peace, reiterating that Pakistan has always played a proactive role in promoting peace in the region. He also pointed out India’s negative and unconstructive role in the Iran-Israel conflict.
The Speaker recalled that Pakistan’s National Assembly was the first legislature to pass a resolution condemning the Israeli attack on Iran, describing Iran as a trusted partner and brotherly country. Iranian Ambassador, in turn, expressed deep gratitude to Pakistan for support during sensitive times.
He stated that Israel’s attack was a deliberate attempt to damage Iran’s nuclear program, and that Israel’s weakening position has led to the United States becoming directly involved in the conflict.
The Ambassador lauded Pakistan’s positive and constructive role in supporting peace across the region, emphasizing parliamentary cooperation as a means to further deepen ties between the two countries.
