India-Angola relations
Angola and India have ‘historically friendly’ relations. Therefore, there have been several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) signed and high-level visits between the two countries.
This year, India launched a new initiative ‘Together in Partnership – Together in Business’ to deepen India-Angola bilateral economic relations.
With a detailed action plan, the two countries aim to collaborate not only on investment but on the marketing of culture and tourism.
Most importantly, in 2020, Angola-India Joint Commission held its first session on 7 September through video conferencing.
In addition to this, the Indian External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and the Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola, Ambassador Téte António co-chaired the session.
India-Ghana relations
Ghana and India’s relations have also traditionally been anchored on friendlier terms and economic cooperation.
India and Ghana have signed bilateral Mechanisms and Agreements. The two countries enjoy a positive trade balance and have cooperated in technology sharing, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture broadly.
More to this, there have been exchanges of high-level visits from both sides. Apart from developmental cooperation, the two countries have mutually collaborated on business exchanges. Therefore, it has resulted in an increase in investment in Ghana.
Also, India has been supporting Ghana’s development. Through offering assistance in developmental projects through the provision of Lines of Credit (LoC) and grants.
Noteworthy, India has extended approximately US$450 million of concessional credit and grants to Ghana for numerous developmental projects.
Furthermore, the Indian High Commission has also established an exclusive India-Business Forum (IBF) in Ghana to foster bilateral trade and investment.
