India Crossed the Line: Pakistan Vows to Hit Back

Islamabad (TDI): The National Security Committee (NSC) on Wednesday strongly condemned India’s overnight strikes on multiple Pakistani cities, declaring them a blatant violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and acts of war under international law.

Chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the high-level civil-military huddle mourned the loss of innocent lives in the unprovoked attacks and authorized the armed forces to respond in self-defiance at a time and place of Pakistan’s choosing.

On the night between May 6 and 7, the Indian Armed Forces launched coordinated missile, air and drone strikes on multiple locations within Pakistan, including Sialkot, Muridke, Shakargarh and Bahawalpur in Punjab, Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

These unprovoked and unjustified airstrikes deliberately targeted the civilian locations, on the false pretext of presence of imaginary terrorist camps, resulting in the martyrdom of innocent civilians, including women and children, and causing damage to the civilian infrastructure.

India’s act of war also caused serious danger to commercial airlines belonging to gulf nations, endangering the lives of thousands of on-board passengers. Moreover, India also targeted the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project in violation of international conventions.

Pakistan has been emphatically rejecting Indian false allegations claiming the presence of terrorist camps on its soil. It would also be recalled that immediately after the Pahalgam attack on April 22, Islamabad made a sincere offer for a credible, neutral and transparent probe, which unfortunately was not accepted.

Pakistan

“In consonance with Article-51 of the United Nations Charter, Pakistan reserves the right to respond, in self-defenses, at a time, place, and manner of its choosing to avenge the loss of innocent lives of Pakistani nationals and blatant violation of its sovereignty. The Armed Forces of Pakistan have duly been authorized to undertake corresponding actions in this regard”, the statement said after the huddle.

Deeply anguished by New Delhi’s naked aggression, the entire nation greatly appreciates and admires the bravery and courage of the Pakistan Armed Forces and their timely action in the defense of their motherland. The nation stands galvanized and resolute in the face of any further aggression, it added.

“The NSC calls upon the global community to recognize the gravity of India’s unprovoked illegal measures and to hold it accountable for its blatant violations of international norms and laws.”
