Dushanbe, 14 August 2021  (TDI): A solemn flag hoisting ceremony was held in the Embassy of Pakistan, Dushanbe, Tajikistan to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan today.

The event commenced with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by hoisting of Pakistani flag with the national anthem by Ambassador Imran Haider. The Ambassador read the Message of President while Mr. Shahid Ali Seehar, Deputy Head of Mission, read out the message of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

On the occasion, the Chancery building was adorned with Pakistani flags, special banners and pamphlets highlighting the patriotic zeal of Pakistanis.

Ambassador Haider congratulated the audience on the occasion of Independence Day and paid high tributes to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and leaders of Pakistan Movement who struggled for the independence of Pakistan.

He said that despite several political and economic challenges, Pakistan continues to tread onto the path of peace, progress and prosperity.

He also condemned the illegal Indian acts of 5th August 2019 that deprived the disputed region of IIoJK of its special status which is a clear violation of international law, UNSC Resolutions and tantamount to demographic apartheid. He urged the international community to take cognizance of the right of self-determination of Kashmiris and the Indian brutalities in IIOJK

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dua was offered for peace and prosperity of the country and for success of Kashmiris’ struggle for the right of self-determination.
