This support comes amid the Taliban’s ongoing ban on education for girls, which has been in effect since the group regained power in August 2021.
The ban prohibits girls from attending high schools and universities, drawing widespread domestic and international criticism.
Female students across Afghanistan have voiced their opposition to these restrictions, asserting that access to education is their human, Islamic, and legal right.
Despite increasing pressure, the Taliban have not altered their position on girls’ education.
