Dubai, 6 October 2021 (TDI): The Philippines Ambassador led the opening ribbon-cutting ceremony in Dubai on 1 October 2021.
The Ambassador of the Philippines to the United Arab Emirates Hjayceelyn M. Quintana has launched the opening ceremony of the “Bangkota” pavilion in Dubai at World Expo 2020.
The pavilion theme evokes the idea that “the Filipino, like a coral reef, grows into colonies, spread out all over the world, connected by migration, travel, and technology.”

The pavilion is located in the sustainability district of the Expo site, which covers a large area of 600 football sites and consists of 3,163 square meters.
Moreover, the Philippines is one of the unique countries which has its self-built pavilion among 192 participating countries in this advanced digital Expo 2020.
The thematic community of the Philippines in UAE has joined the opening ceremony of the “Bangkota” pavilion including Assistant Secretary Rosario Virginia Gaetos, Architect Royal Pineda and Consul General Paul Cortes.
In the ceremony, Ambassador Quintana said, “It’s a big moment for the world! The Filipinos are one with our Emirati brothers and sisters for this once in a lifetime opportunity to gather as one humanity.”

Furthermore, he said that the Bangkota pavilion finds its place in the World Expo which brings new ideas and new creations to find the brightest future.
