Kigali, 11 November 2021 (TDI): On Wednesday, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto arrived in Rwanda on official visit.
Rwanda Minister of Foreign Affairs and International cooperation Vincent Biruta, received Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto in Kigali. Both officials pledged to strengthen cooperation in areas of education, health, investment, trade, and water & sanitation.
During the meeting, both ministers signed various cooperation agreements including expansion of the Kigali water plant with a financing of $52 Million and construction of plants’ pipelines.

Peter Szijjarto also met with Rwanda’s Minister of Trade and Industry Béata U. Habyarimana. Both explored the cooperation opportunities in the trade and industry sector and discussed the ongoing projects in Rwanda.
Additionally, Hungary donated around 300,000 Covid-19 vaccine doses of Sinopharm and AstraZeneca to Rwanda. It will help Rwanda’s health sector to end the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Hungarian Foreign Minister also paid a visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial. He paid respect to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
