Karachi (TDI): The autopsy report of model and actress Humaira Asghar Ali has been put on hold until the completion of chemical analysis, police officials said on Wednesday.
According to Police Surgeon Dr. Summaya Syed, the condition of the body, which was found in an advanced state of decomposition, made it necessary to carry out chemical and forensic testing to confirm the initial physical findings.
Humaira’s body was discovered inside her apartment in Defense Phase 6’s Ittehad Commercial area, several weeks after her death.
The disturbing discovery has triggered both a police investigation and attempts to reach out to her long-estranged family.
Investigators managed to obtain contact details from her landlord and used call records to locate her father and brother.

However, police said the actress’s father declined to come to Karachi, claiming the family had severed ties with her nearly two years ago.
SSP South, Mahzoor Ali, told reporters that two mobile phones were recovered from the apartment and have been sent to the forensic lab for data extraction.
He added that authorities suspect the existence of a third phone, as no communication activity has been found beyond October of last year.

“There’s a gap in her digital footprint,” said the SSP. “We are checking whether she had another device that hasn’t yet been found.”
Police also confirmed that no suspicious CCTV footage was retrieved from the building’s surveillance system.
