Managua, 20 July 2022 (TDI): Vice Foreign Minister of Honduras, Torres Zelaya attended the 43rd anniversary of the achievement of the Sandinista Revolution under official acts in Nicaragua.

Nicaragua commemorates the anniversary of the Sandinista Revolution also known as the Nicaraguan Revolution on its victory. The heroes of Nicaragua gave their lives achieving martyrdom to remove the military hold on the Governance of the country.

Sandinista Revolution: An Overview

Sandinista is a political party, National Liberation front which is one of the Nicaraguan groups that ended the presidency era of Anastasio Somoza Debayle. The party is named after Augusto César Sandino, who led the Nicaraguan resistance.

Somoza had been the Dictator of Nicaragua who ruled for forty-six years. Whereas, Sandinista leader, Daniel Ortega governed the country from 1979 to 1990, and later he was reelected in 2006.

The anniversary is celebrated on 19th July every year. Furthermore, the Nicaragua community gathered yesterday to celebrate the festivities of the forty-third year of Sandinista victory.

Nicaragua commenced the initiatives that it planned to achieve during the coming year to build a dynamic country. However, the opponents of the Nicaraguan Government protested nationwide causing transit disruptions.

Even though Honduras and Nicaragua have been in a tense relationship, still they carry bilateral ties through the United States. Nicaragua and Honduras had a rift due to the boundary problems that occurred on the Atlantic Coast.

Besides that, the countries have signed many agreements such as the Technical Verification Agreement. The Agreement allowed both Governments to bring in third-party countries to get expert technical workers into both Nations.
