Islamabad (TDI): Kamal Bashah Ahmad, the High Commissioner of Brunei to Pakistan, received the Global Ambassador Award at the 7th edition ceremony that was organized by the Diplomatic Insight Group (DIG) on Wednesday.
Kamal Bashah Ahmad is a distinguished diplomat and a military veteran. He brings a rich blend of diplomatic, military, and corporate experience to his role.
Before his posting to Pakistan, he served as Brunei’s High Commissioner to Canada, with additional accreditation to Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

His leadership and stature among the diplomatic community earned him the distinction of being elected Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Ottawa. High Commissioner Kamal has served for 32 years in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, retiring as a Colonel.
An aircraft engineer by profession, he served as Director of Logistics at the Ministry of Defense and studied at the Royal Military College of Science at Cranfield University, as well as the Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst.
Before concluding his military service, he was appointed CEO of Royal Brunei Technical Services, where he built further expertise in strategic management and executive leadership.

In Pakistan, Ambassador Kamal Bashah has actively promoted partnerships in trade, investment, and industrial cooperation.
He has encouraged business-to-business initiatives that support Brunei’s economic diversification, with the Pak–Brunei Investment Company and emerging joint ventures reflecting these efforts.
Beyond formal duties, he has fostered goodwill through a unique initiative known as “kayak diplomacy,” personally leading kayaking sessions at Rawal Lake that bring together diverse communities and encourage cultural exchange.
He is widely recognized for combining defense, diplomacy, and business expertise to advance bilateral goodwill and long-term partnership.
