Gujranwala (TDI): New opportunities for women entrepreneurs in trade, technology and skills development were discussed during a visit by Chinese Consul General in Lahore Sun Yan to the Gujranwala Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GWCCI) at GIFT University.
The visit was facilitated by Diplomatic Insight Group and Gujranwala Business Alliance (GBA). Sun Yan was welcomed by GWCCI President Yasmeen Dawood, Founder and Patron-in-Chief Ahmad Lone, Patron-in-Chief Muhammad Anwar Dar and other members of the chamber’s leadership.
The discussions focused on creating greater opportunities for women entrepreneurs through trade, technology, skills development, and stronger institutional linkages with China.
It was also highlighted that GWCCI will be an integral part of initiatives led by the BRI Excellence Centre, connecting women entrepreneurs with opportunities in trade, education, technology, and international collaboration.
The engagement reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that women entrepreneurs play an active role in the growing Pakistan–China economic partnership.
The participants expressed a shared commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation and creating new avenues for women entrepreneurs to expand their businesses and develop international partnerships.
The initiative comes as Pakistan and China continue to explore new areas of economic cooperation, with greater emphasis on trade, investment, technology and people-to-people exchanges.
Strengthening links between business communities is also expected to help Pakistani entrepreneurs gain greater access to international markets and build partnerships with Chinese counterparts.
