Rawalpindi, 21 September 2021 (TDI): Greek Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Andreas Papastavrou, held a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, at General Headquarters, Rawalpindi. According to ISPR, the meeting marked the discussion of mutual interests and regional security; especially the evolving dynamics in Afghanistan.
The Chief of Army Staff said that Pakistan only wants peace and stability in Afghanistan. It is lending all-out support for this purpose. On the security situation, he mentioned that Pakistan is safe for international tourism, sports, and business activities.
The Greek Ambassador lauded Pakistan’s efforts in Afghanistan; especially the evacuation operations. He also acknowledged the country’s coordinated national response towards COVID-19.
The visiting dignitary stressed increasing the bilateral cooperation between the two countries at all levels.
