Islamabad (TDI): Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik said on Tuesday that the government was committed to equipping the country’s youth with advanced skills for the global labor market.
He made these remarks during a meeting with a Chinese delegation led by Ms. Scarlet, the head of OPH’s healthcare project. During the meeting, Scarlet presented a comprehensive proposal by the GAREA Group.
The proposed project aims to provide affordable healthcare services to remote areas through the strategic deployment of AI-based cloud computing, which reduces costs and helps in diagnoses.

The proposed project also includes a portable diagnostic machine, which can diagnose seven to eight types of diseases, significantly reducing transportation costs and increasing accessibility.
The project will further introduce a digital platform to allow easy and seamless communication between patients, doctors, and medical stores.
Through this platform, the doctors will be able to share the prescription with medical stores, and the stores will directly send the test reports to doctors on the panel.
This initiative has already yielded promising results in Indonesia, where it has augmented doctors’ earnings by increasing the daily patient check-up ratio from 8 to 37.
The minister appreciated the initiative, saying the government was fully committed to equipping individuals with advanced skills to meet the evolving demands of the global labor market.

The delegation shared details about three levels of certification. These include the Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) – a two-week course, the Huawei Certified ICT Professional (HCIP) – a one-month course, and the Huawei Certified ICT Expert (HCIE) – a six-month course.
The minister called it a major investment from China’s Ministry of Education, saying that skill development is important for economic growth.
The meeting ended with a plan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), between OPH and the Ministry of Health. The MoU will help both work together for skill development and healthcare improvement. The minister said such partnerships will give Pakistanis better skills to help them compete in the global job market.
