Islamabad (TDI): Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Industries and Production, on Thursday presided over the 4th meeting on the Electric Vehicles Policy (EVP), instructing relevant authorities to install EV charging stations at all petrol pumps to meet the growing demand for eco-friendly transport.
The meeting discussed the Electric Vehicles Policy and the progress of its implementation in detail.
Rana Tanveer Hussain commended the efforts of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and instructed it to install charging stations at all petrol pumps as soon as possible.
He also announced that the government would provide free electric bikes to top 120 Federal Board students, while 39,000 electric bikes and 1,900 electric rickshaws would be provided on subsidized loans.

The meeting reviewed the progress on the construction of forty charging stations along highways and motorways.
The Minister emphasized digitizing all processes to ensure transparency and easy access to information.

Rana Tanveer Hussain confirmed that, in line with the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision, Islamabad will become a model city with widespread use of EVs.
He concluded by announcing that the Electric Vehicles Policy will be initiated soon, further strengthening the country’s eco-friendly transport system.
