Abu Dhabi, 17 November 2022 (TDI): Ghana beat Switzerland in the final World Cup warm-up. Both countries arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and commence training ahead of the big day.

Ghana scored twice in the space of four second-half minutes to secure a convincing 2-0 win over Switzerland in the match.

The Head Coach of Ghana’s national team, Otto Addo in his statement said, the friendly match against Switzerland was important to him before the start of the World Cup in Qatar.

The Coach believes that this match will give him more insight into what it will look like when the World Cup starts. Switzerland’s Head Coach, Murat Yakin also indicated that he is ready to start the game with Ghana and is optimistic about the outcome.

He again added that not all his designated regulars would play for today. Ghana and Switzerland have been on good terms when it comes to cultural and public diplomacy.

Both countries have played soccer against each other for all these years. The Ghanaian team which heads to Qatar for the World Cup has played a lot of friendly and competitive games against Switzerland.

Both countries will be playing in the FIFA World Cup this year. Both countries will be going to Qatar where they will seek to bring home the trophy. Ghana is to face off against Portugal while Switzerland will be playing against Cameroon.

Ghana as part of the preparation released its 26-man squad for the World Cup. The Head Coach, Otto Addo revealed this when he held a press conference on the preparation of the country for the world cup.

Ghana has represented itself many times in the World Cup. The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) in their statement assured every African country of their support to them towards the World Cup player to begin soon.

The international governing body, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has assured all countries representing at the World Cup 2022 in Qatar a sound and fair playground.

The cultural diplomacy which exists between all countries playing at the World Cup will be respected and held in high esteem.
