Germany evacuates 4,500 people from Afghanistan

Berlin, 25 August 2021- (TDI): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany took to Twitter and shared that so far Germany has flown more than 4,500 people out from Afghanistan in the light of the current Afghan situation. Out of the total number, approximately 3,700 people are Afghan nationals of which women and girls make up about 50%.

These evacuated people from Kabul also include journalists and human rights activists. These people have been evacuated from Afghanistan with the coordination of Bundeswehr flights, the Federal Defense forces of Germany.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said that thousands of people are desperate to flee the country after the Taliban took control of the country and that Germany will keep evacuating and assisting people in Afghanistan.
