Islamabad, 27 August 2024 (TDI): A government spokesperson announced that Germany would give 100,000 doses of the Mpox vaccine from its military supplies in order to aid the affected countries and help short-term manage the spread on the African continent.
The spokesperson added that the government will support its partners in Africa through the GAVI vaccination alliance and will supply the World Health Organization with flexible funding resources through a variety of tools to fight Mpox.
After Berlin acquired Jynneos in 2022, the German army is currently hoarding over 117,000 doses of the drug.
According to a spokesman for the defense ministry on Monday, it will maintain a minimal level of supply, for example, to protect traveling authorities. Reordering immunizations would require a different choice, he continued.
