Islamabad, 30 August 2024 (TDI): German Ambassador to Pakistan Alfred Grannas has reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to supporting Pakistan in improving the education and health sectors.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new dental department at Maroof International Hospital, he highlighted the significance of a robust health sector in ensuring a healthy society.
He praised the state-of-the-art facilities at the hospital, including the online digital system, radiation control room, waiting areas, and dental implant services.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Centaurus Mall CEO Sardar Yasir Ilyas, Chairman of Maroof International Hospital Chaudhry Nasir Ahmed, and CEO Chaudhry Haroon Nasir.

Envoy Emphasizes Increased Awareness
Ambassador Grannas underscored the need for increased awareness regarding the prevention of dental diseases, stressing the strong correlation between oral health and general health.
He cited connections between oral health and heart disease, which may arise from bacteria and germs spreading from the mouth to other parts of the body through the bloodstream.
He also pointed out that individuals with diabetes are particularly vulnerable to severe gum disease, which can affect the bone supporting the teeth.
Chairman Chaudhry Nasir Ahmed expressed confidence that the new dental clinic would offer exceptional medical services to the public.
Meanwhile, CEO Chaudhry Haroon Nasir stated that the dental department provides a comprehensive range of services under one roof, including screening, children’s dental care, root canals, and crowns.
Sardar Yasir Ilyas emphasized the critical role of government support in strengthening the health sector.
Ambassador Grannas commended the hospital administration for its dedication to delivering quality healthcare services.
Dr. Gulzar Bukhari, Head of the Dental Department, gave a brief overview of the department’s offerings, highlighting the clinic’s wide array of specialized services.
