Islamabad (TDI): The Ambassador of France to Pakistan, Nicolas Galey, held an extensive meeting with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, during which he stressed on deepening trade ties between France and Pakistan.
The Ambassador also expressed a keen desire to explore avenues to strengthen bilateral trade and sector-specific cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the French Ambassador and the Federal Minister for Commerce covered a wide range of topics including market access, industrial certification, future trade diplomacy, and institutional reforms.

They also reiterated their commitment to transform France-Pakistan bilateral economic engagement into a well-structured, mutually beneficial partnership.
Jam Kamal Khan noted, “France is a key partner in the EU and globally. We see immense potential in building sector-specific partnerships, especially in agriculture, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and digital transformation.”
He further emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to step up exports to France and encouraged the country’s support to help Pakistani industries align with international compliance and certification standards.
The dignitaries also shared mutual interest in the upcoming Pakistan–France Investment Forum in Paris, which is an initiative to bring together the dynamic business community, investors, and policymakers.

Minister Jam Kamal Khan proposed the idea of incorporating B2B meetings, fashion shows, and country-specific exhibitions into future trade forums, which will further boost Pakistani textiles, garments, and agri-based products, and attract investors from multiple sectors.
French Ambassador, Nicolas Galey, expressed optimism over the steady incline in economic cooperation between France and Pakistan.
He further highlighted the active role of French companies in Pakistan’s lighting and pharmaceutical sectors, and stressed, “Examples of successful joint ventures must be highlighted to build trust and encourage further investment.”
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to institutionalize cooperation between France and Pakistan, and also align their development strategies toward data-driven, sustainable, and inclusive bilateral trade.
