Islamabad (TDI): Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch held two detailed briefing sessions, today and on April 24, for Islamabad-based Heads of Mission and senior diplomats on the emerging regional developments following the recent attack in Pahalgam in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
The sessions were organized in the backdrop of India’s allegations and misinformation campaign, attempting to link Pakistan to the attack. Over thirty envoys attended the briefing on the first day.
During the session, Foreign Secretary Baloch provided a comprehensive overview of the situation, including a summary of the outcomes of the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting convened to assess the implications of the incident.

“The Foreign Secretary warned that India’s attempts to weaponize terrorism for political gains threaten regional peace and security,” FO posted on X about the second day of the briefing.
She underscored Pakistan’s position on the matter and rejected the baseless allegations being propagated by India in the aftermath of the attack.
Foreign Secretary Baloch categorically dismissed the Indian misinformation campaign, calling it an attempt to degrade Pakistan and distract from its own internal challenges in the disputed region. She emphasized that such tactics serve only to obstruct the long-standing pursuit of peace and stability in South Asia.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled stance, she reiterated the country’s consistent and unwavering condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
“Pakistan remains committed to peace, security, and cooperation in the region, and has always played a responsible role in promoting stability,” she stated.
Foreign Secretary Baloch also cautioned the international community against Indian attempts to escalate tensions. “Any move by India to create unrest or provoke conflict will be met with full preparedness and resolve.

The Foreign Secretary urged the diplomatic community to take note of India’s recurring pattern of issuing unfounded allegations against Pakistan without evidence, especially during periods of internal unrest or international scrutiny.
She stressed the importance of an objective and balanced international response to ensure regional peace and the protection of human rights in IIOJK.
The session concluded with a call for sustained diplomatic engagement and collective efforts to prevent further escalation and uphold regional security.
