Tehran, 8 August 2022 (TDI): The Foreign Ministers of Iran and China, Hossein Amirabdollahian and Wang Yi held a telephone conversation on 6 August 2022. During the call, the two ministers discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.
The two ministers also talked about ways to enhance economic and trade ties and also the removal of sanctions.

Aim of the Telephone Conversation
The Iranian Minister also referred to the telephone conversation between the Presidents of Iran and China as productive. He also extended regards from the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to the Chinese President Xi Jining.
Furthermore, Minister Amirabdollahian emphasized the need for Iranian ad Chinese officials to execute bilateral treaties. He also sent an invitation for China’s top diplomat to visit Tehran.
During the call, The Iranian Foreign Minister also highlighted the developments in eastern Asia and he also condemned the US actions against China. He emphasized that Iran fully respects the principle of One-China. He said that Tehran complies with the principles as a legal obligation. This is in accordance with historical records as well as Iran’s support for stability in the region.
Furthermore, The officials also discussed the removal of sanctions, Minister Amirabdollahian also highlighted the efforts of Iran in reaching a lasting and robust deal, underlining the need for a realistic response by the United States to the productive proposals of Iran concerning various issues to finalize a deal.
On the other hand, the Chinese Foreign Minister and State Councillor Wang Yi responded and passed regards from the Chinese President to the Iranian President. Wang Yi also said that the promotion of bilateral ties between Tehran and Beijing benefits both countries.
He disapproved of unilateralism on the international scene and reaffirmed China’s support for the interests of developing states. The Chinese Minister also appreciated Iran’s support for China’s territorial integrity. He also declared China supports that nuclear negotiations resume, and also Iran’s approach to the negotiations.

The Chinese Minister also emphasized the need for Iranian and Chinese officials to continue close and steady consultations. Furthermore, he also lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stance during the talks, describing them as logical and prudent.
