Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)
JCPOA is formally known as the Iran nuclear agreement, which is an accord signed between Iran and world powers in July 2015. Under this agreement, Iran was obliged to dismantle its nuclear weapons program to prevent the conflict between Iran and regional rivals, especially Saudi Arabia and Israel.
However, during the tenure of President Donald Trump, the US withdrew from it in 2018. Iran recommenced its nuclear activities after the US withdrew.
However, in 2021, President Joe Biden stated that the US will return to the deal if Iran shows readiness after negotiation. President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, and Iran’s leader urged lifting unlawful sanctions.
Sections removal working group
The European Union, Group P4+1 (Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany), and representatives of Iran attended the Section removal working group.
The main prioritized agenda of Minister Bagheri Kani, who is Iran’s top negotiator and representative, was to talk about elevating the US illegal and unlawful sanctions against Iran.
Moreover, he discussed the poverty of US and EU commitment to accomplish the agreement and its outcomes and consequences, submitted a new draft proposal for further negotiation on sections removal.
In Vienna, Bagheri Kani told reporters that he is very affirmative as all participants are willing to talk over the US lifting Sections imposed on Iran.
“I believe that this is a great achievement that all member states of the G4+1 group accepted Iran’s rightful request and emphasized that the state of the US regime’s illegal sanctions against our people must be clarified first and then other issues be discussed,” Baqeri Kani said.
He further added, “During the meeting, we emphasized that the main factor behind the current conditions is actions taken by a country, which left the agreement in violation of the accord and the United Nations Security Council resolution [that upheld it], and also reinstated past sanctions [on Iran] in contravention of international laws and regulations while imposing new sanctions as well.”
Fruitful discussions with @rafaelmgrossi aimed at continuation of technical cooperation between Iran & IAEA.
I confirmed the resolute intention of Iran to actively and positively engage in the talks in Vienna.

7th Round of Talks
Vienna has made tremendous progress in terms of negotiation. Parties have been deciding from the past six rounds which US sanctions should be lifted against Iran. They have almost agreed on the terms of Iran in order to oblige the US to the nuclear deal.
