Qatar, 2nd September 2021 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of the Netherland, Sigrid Kaag, meets with the Foreign Minister of Qatar, Muhammad Bin Abdul Rehman on the situation in Afghanistan. The meeting revolved around the situation in Afghanistan.
They discussed the importance of reopening the airport as soon as possible to facilitate people.
They acknowledge that stability in Afghanistan is essential for the prosperity in the region and the only way to gain peace is for the two countries to work together to counter terrorism and to achieve a stable government that would bid with international norms. Both the countries expressed the need to support and strengthen the people of Afghanistan to protect their basic rights.
The Foreign Minister of the Netherland, Sigrid Kaag, agreed to the temporary relocation of the Netherlands embassy in Afghanistan to Doha in Qatar and to strengthen the bilateral relations between Netherlands and Qatar.
